Successful Baker Historic Neighborhood Home Tour

By Richard Parker
GRAND SUCCESS!
Those are the two words I’d use for our 2016 Baker Home Tour. It exceeded our highest expectations—well over 300 people passing through our six highly varied homes, our stately DCIS Fairmont School, the Art Deco Fire Station, and the iconic St. Peter and St. Mary Stone Church.
With your help the tour grossed more than $11,000. This year we are using the proceeds to fund enrichment programs at DCIS Fairmont, to make matching grants to improve energy efficiency in Baker homes under the Sustainable Neighborhood Energy program, and to support BHNA outreach programs to neighborhood charities and non-profits.

The Home Tour Committee would like to thank Jeff and Judi Pring, Richard Gieseler and Suzanne Gruba, Kevin Henderson, Jennifer Arnt, Chris Horton, Keiven  Cosgriff  & Brie Bane Cosgriff, Fire station #11, St Peter and St Mary Church and DCIS at Fairmont for opening up your doors for the tour.

More than 40 volunteers made this effort possible but the home tour committee of Richard Parker, Daniel Read, Bill Drasky, Adrian Brown, Emily FitzRandolph and Ryan Elmore really worked hard to make this year successful.

The home tour committee will be convening in the coming months to assess the viability of the 2017 Baker Home Tour. Home owners that are interested in having their home on the tour and individuals interested in volunteering, passionate about Baker, DCIS at Fairmont and history are encouraged to join by emailing daniel.m.read@gmail.com.
